Wisdom from the East

This is one of two schools offered in 2008-2009.

Fear not, wise one! You are not in danger.
There is a way to cross the ocean of life and death,
through which the saints have gained the other shore.
This way I will reveal to you.

The stupid man looks at his body and says, 'This is I'.
The more learned thinks, 'This is I' of his personality.
But the wise one knows the true Self, saying, 'I AM the Eternal'.
He is individual, though without separateness.
She who possesses Soul vision,
has dissolved the 'I' into Pure Conscious Beingness.

To those who are wandering in this desert world,
weary, oppressed and worn by sorrow,
may this teaching reveal the Eternal Oneness,
bringing joy, like an ocean of nectar near at hand.

Mysticism

Mysticism is concerned with the possibility of personally encountering a spiritual reality which is hidden from our normal awareness.

Mysticism began with the extraordinary experiences of the ancient shamans who began an exploration of the mysteries of consciousness. It continues today and also exists outside religion.

Higher consciousness is available to everyone. By setting on a course of spiritual exploration we experience it ourselves, today and apply it in our daily lives.

With a single stroke we are freed from bondage,

nothing clings to us and we hold to nothing.

All is empty, clear, self illuminating,

with no exertion of the minds power.

Here thought, feeling, knowledge, and imagination

are of no value.

In this world of suchness

there is neither self nor other than self.

Venue

Time

7.00 PM – 9 PM

You can’t see it, because it has no form.

You can’t hear it, because it makes no noise.

You can’t touch it, because it has no substance.

It cannot be known in these ways,

Because it is the all –embracing Oneness.

It is not high and light,

Or low and dark.

Indefinable yet continually present,

It is nothing at all.

It is the formless form,

The imageless image.

It can’t be grasped by the imagination.

It has no beginning and no end.

This is the essence of Toa.

Stay in harmony with this ancient presence,

And you will know the fullness of each present moment.
